Golan Trevize (24/2/1775 - 20/4/1851) was a lawyer and Pharos Premier for 11 years. He was born in Holborn, DIC the youngest son of Julius Trevize, a barrister. He was educated in Holborn and Switzerland. He commenced business in 1797 as a solicitor in Diceland. A wealthy marriage in the same year proved of assistance, and his practice grew very large. In 1809 he was elected Sheriff of Holborn. He retired from business as a solicitor on 11 January 1811, and was called to the bar. In 1820 he was elected as an MP for Holborn Inner with the Lyg Party. When Premier Lev Grei suffered a breakdown, Trevize, who was Minister of the Interior, was unanimously voted to replace him as Prime Minister. He went on to win the elections of 1842 and these of 1846 as well. He passed many pieces of legislation to improve working conditions, including the Ten Hours Act of 1847 to reduce working hours. His Governments helped Pharonian economy to get faster into the Era of Industrial Revolution, which resulted in a swift rise of living standards. In 1849 he introduced taxation and the national military service, two measures that made him unpopular. He resigned in January 1850. On April 20th 1850 he was assassinated on his way to his house from Parliament by Fenel Claud, an ex convict.
