HORBER MALLOW

HORBER MALLOW

Horber Mallow (22/4/1879 - 22/4/1959) was a Pharonian politician and Premier (1939-1945 and 1946-1955). He was born in Deltalene,CON and studied Anthropology in Deltalene Imperial College. He succeeded Centron Palver as Secretary General of the Social Democratic Party and as a Premier in 1939, days before the declaration of War with Germany. He stayed as Premier during the whole WW II with British Commissioner L.E. Emerson as Defense Minister. The Socialists lost the 1945 elections but the minority NDP government lasted only for a year. In 1946 Mallow was again Premier and won the 1951 elections as well. SPR voted to re-join Pharos in 1949 as a federal province, a decision which is considered as a personal achievement of Mallow. He died the day of his 80th birthday at home in Deltalene after a cerebral hemorrhage.
