JAN CZERMACK

JAN CZERMACK

Jan Czermack (15/61645 - 15/9/1712) was a Pharonian politician and peer, who is considered to be the 1st Premier of the Dominion of Pharos. He was instrumental in negotiating and passing the British Pharos Act which recognized Pharos as federated kingdom of its own right. He was born in Monrovia, son of Sir Fran Czermack, a favorite of King Charles II and landowner. He became a member of Parliament in 1668 and soon became its chief if not its only financial authority. In 1670 he was awarded a 31-year lease on all tin mines in Centralia.  Though not technically a favorite with King William III and Queen Anne (due to his ties with Charles II), he was appointed Lord Treasurer of Pharos, and he retained the office for eight years. He was chief negotiator for Pharos in the London Conference of 1706, which led to the formation of the Dominion. Queen Anne appointed him as Premier of the newly formed entity, so to prepare Pharos to enter the new era. Czermack was married to Lady Margina Blage, who died in childbirth in 1678 bearing his only son Peter, father of Anja Czermack, later ASO's Ers Orator.
