Pat CRESTAN

Pat Crestan (b 13/12/193) was a professional footballer. Born in Substantia, Diacria, the diminutive (1.65m) striker played for his hometown team Veert, making a name for himself as a lethal scorer (he was twice Diacrian League top scorer). He joined Dalton Sc for £2,000 in 1925. With the Villemstad club he won the 1933 National Championship, being named best player. He was also 4 years in a row among the PSC's best scorers, being top in 1932. He left Villemstad in 1936, after being involved in a betting scandal, although no players were ever charged with any offence. He returned to Substantia and played for Veert again till the age of 37. He died in 1977.
